Created in 2018, Botanical Lab was launched to offer a fresh approach to skincare –sustainability, clean beauty, vegan, and quality ingredients at accessible prices. The new brand combined natural and scientific ingredients for effectiveness, with the promise ‘Inspired by nature. Powered by science’.
The brand was completely new, and whilst potentially promising the best of both worlds – nature and science – it was very possible that this could confuse and might fail to provide a single-minded benefit that would appeal to a relatively young female audience.
We successfully launched the campaign in Q4 2020, in the midst of the pandemic. In the absence of bricks & mortar distribution, we focused on online sales through the Botanical Lab website, and also through Amazon. In spite of the major challenges we faced, early response to the campaign was extremely positive and many product lines quickly sold out.
